I shall be exhibiting hand pulled prints along with the artist Phil Strang
( painter and fantasy world computer artist ) at the Urbana Civic Center on September 18 where I shall also be demonstrating some modern hands on techniques of safe printmaking of monotypes from woodblock and solar plate.
The Art Expo will include 18 artists and is all day at the Urbana Civic Center on 108 Water Street, Urbana Illinois on Sunday September 18 from 10-5.

Rosalind Faiman Weinberg of Urbana, Illinois has some nicely created monotypes from woodblock and acrylic plates. Her "The Traveller I" has a forest-type development with the typography somewhat dense. Another strong work is her "The Traveller VIII" with the linear patterns and the addition of yellows. And the direct use of black and white handsomely shows a kind of elegance.

All 8 Torahs owned by Sinai Temple in Champaign Illinois, now have new covers hand embroidered and designed by Rosalind Faiman Weinberg for both the High Holidays and the rest of the year. See her website portfolio to view some of the images, and of course, the SinaiTemple Ark of the Sanctuary and Davis Chapel to view them in situ. The Torah cover designs relate to the Ark doors also designed by the artist back in 2002.

The second year of Murals on Glass project hosted by the City of Urbana, Illinois, will go up at the end of August 2013 on downtown city buildings.
One of my monoprints, "Fall Elegy VI", will be dispalyed on the south west window of the Urbana Civic Center, 108 Water Street, Urbana IL.
The City of Urbana council has voted to maintain the image for another 2 years.

The artist is a member of the Monday Evening Life Drawing (MELD)
group of artists. We have a live model and meet once a week on Monday evenings for 2 hours. Those interested in participating as drawers or as a model should contact Lawrence McGown at mcgphoto@aol.com for more information.
